Fangoria #264 has an article about a quirky horror/comedy coming out of New Zealand called Black Sheep. Reminiscent of Night of the Lepus, Black Sheep is about genetically altered sheep that start attacking humans.
First-time director, Jonathan King, likens this film to the 1981 classic, An American Werewolf in London. And like the John Landis creature-feature, Black Sheep boasts dazzling special effects by Richard Taylor and his Weta workshop.
New Zealand is also the homeland of Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings, King Kong), who got his start with off-the-wall horror/comedies like Bad Taste and Dead Alive (aka Braindead).
Check out the trailer, it actually doesn't look too baaaaaad.
(Sorry, I just couldn't resist!)
